What is the Dreamline Journal
“If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or things.”
― Albert Einstein
After much work, deliberation, and a little procrastination, The Dreamline Journal is here!
What is it exactly?
The Dreamline Journal is a daily goals journal that enables you to develop a game plan for reaching your goals and dreams. You will first write down 2-3 of your biggest goals or dreams that you would like to accomplish in the next year. From there, you will use the journal to help you break down these dreams into smaller quarterly , monthly , and weekly goals that help put you in a better position to reach your long term goals and dreams.
Each morning you will write down a goal/objective from each category (year, quarter, month, and week) and list your daily action steps (Parertos). This process helps remind yourself of what your ultimate goals are and what steps you need to take to reach them. Before bed you will simply review your daily action steps and reflect upon what you can do tomorrow to continue the momentum that you have built.
One reason that I created this journal was because I would often develop goals, work towards them for a few days, forget about them all together, and then start the process all over a few months later! Through the daily use of this journal, you will be constantly reminding yourself of your long term dreams and the steps you need to take to reach them.
Another benefit of this journal is that it makes your dreams seem more attainable. For example, one of my year long goals is to be able to run 3 miles in 18 minutes. When I think about just how fast that is compared to my current fitness levels, it is really easy to get discouraged. However, when I break this goal down to weekly goals (specific workouts to be completed), monthly goal times (starting at 20 minutes and decreasing my goal time each month), I can see the path towards reaching this goal. I know that it will not be easy, but with my game-plan in hand, I know that it can be done!
